787 vs A350: What's the Real Deal on Costs?

So, I was reading about the cost differences between the Boeing 787 and Airbus A350. It's pretty interesting, honestly, because these two are like the top dogs in the widebody market right now. Until the 777X finally makes its debut, that is.

From what I gather, airlines have a lot to consider when picking between these two. It's not just the list price but also how much it'll cost to operate these beasts. I've heard the 787 is generally cheaper upfront, but then the A350 might be more efficient on some routes.

Anyone know how much of a factor operating costs really play into airlines' decisions? And, do you think the 777X will shake things up when it finally joins the party? I guess it'll be interesting to see how airlines balance all these factors.

If you've got any insights or opinions on which one you think is the better choice, or if there's something I'm missing here, I'd love to hear it!
Operating costs are huge in the decision-making process for airlines. Fuel efficiency, maintenance schedules, and crew training all add up. The 787 might be cheaper at first, but the A350 can be more fuel-efficient, especially on longer routes. As for the 777X, it's supposed to offer better range and capacity, which could shift things. But until we see it in action, it's hard to say. Anyone got inside info on how airlines are leaning with these new orders?
