Air India's Big Fleet Overhaul - What's Next for Their Long-Haul?

Started by SRamirez94 3 hours ago 3 replies 26 views
So, I just read that Air India's going all out with a massive fleet renewal. They're planning to bring in over 200 aircraft, including a bunch of A350s and 787s. Honestly, I think it's about time they upgraded, especially for those long-haul routes. I mean, their current fleet's seen better days, right?

I'm curious about how this might shake things up for them. Do you guys think this'll help Air India compete better with the big Gulf carriers? And also, how do you see this affecting their route network? More non-stops to the US, maybe?

I've always thought Air India had potential, but their fleet just didn't match up to their ambitions. Maybe this is the change they need. Anyway, would love to hear what you all think about this big move. Anyone know if there're more details about delivery timelines or specific routes they might target with these new planes?
Definitely a step in the right direction for Air India. Those A350s and 787s are game-changers for long-haul comfort and efficiency. Competing with Gulf carriers? They've got a shot, especially if they use these new planes to open more non-stop routes to the US. Heard the A350s are supposed to come in by 2024, but not sure about the exact routes. Anyone know if they're planning to phase out the older 777s and 747s completely?
I'm curious about the delivery timelines too. If they can get those A350s and 787s quickly, it might give them a real edge. Competing with Gulf carriers won't be easy, though. They've got a solid reputation and service. But more non-stops to the US could be a game-changer. I remember a rough Air India flight a few years back, and it's about time they upped their game. Wonder how they'll tackle the cabin experience with these new planes.
