Air India Pilot's Baggage Blunder at SFO - What Was He Thinking?

Started by Alexander1999 2 hours ago 1 replies 51 views
So, there's this wild story about an Air India pilot getting denied entry at SFO because he allegedly had marijuana in his luggage. He wasn't even flying the plane, just deadheading to operate a flight back to India. But still, how does someone in such a critical job let this happen? It seems like a huge lapse in judgment. Even if marijuana's legal in California, federal laws at the border are a whole different ball game.

This is a big deal, especially for a pilot. They're held to such high standards, and for a good reason. The FAA doesn't mess around with drug rules for pilots. Makes me wonder, was this intentional or just negligence? Either way, it's not a good look for the airline or the pilot.

What do you guys think? How should airlines handle such incidents? And how does this affect Air India's operations when they need that pilot for a long-haul flight? Curious to hear your thoughts!
