JetBlue's A320s Getting Slick New Cockpit Displays!

Started by MatthewFan33 3 hours ago 1 replies 25 views
So, JetBlue just inked a deal with Airbus to upgrade the cockpit displays on 46 of their A320s. They're going to install these Enhanced Electronic Instrument System (EEIS2) displays, which apparently have high-res LCD tech. Pretty cool move, I think. It's all about giving pilots better info visualization, which is always a good thing. Plus, it lays the groundwork for future tech upgrades-kind of like getting a new phone that can handle software updates for years.

No word on the cost or when they'll start rolling these out, which is a bit of a bummer. But this seems like a smart investment for JetBlue, especially with their big Airbus fleet in North America. They're saying it's part of their 'JetForward' strategy. I guess it's all about keeping older planes up to date and reliable.

I'm curious how this might change things for pilots. Anyone here with cockpit experience think this makes a big difference? And what do you think about airlines investing in tech upgrades like this instead of just buying new planes?
