Why Air Force One Hardly Refuels Mid-Air!

So I was reading about Air Force One and learned something interesting - it can refuel in mid-air, but apparently, it rarely does. The VC-25A, which is the 747 used for Air Force One, has all these advanced features, but aerial refueling doesn't seem to be a common practice for it. It's crazy because they've never done it with a President on board, from what I understand.

I guess it makes sense that they wouldn't risk it unless absolutely necessary. I mean, refueling mid-air isn't exactly a simple or risk-free process. Plus, those flights are usually well-planned, so they probably don't have to worry about running out of fuel. But still, having that capability must be a nice backup.

Anyone know more about the logistics of aerial refueling? Like, how often do other military planes do it? And what kind of situations would make Air Force One actually need to use it? Seems like a pretty cool feature to have, even if it's not something they do all the time. Thoughts?
Refueling mid-air is pretty common for military planes like bombers and fighters that need long-range for missions. But for Air Force One, it's more of a "just-in-case" option. The logistics are intense, and there's no need to do it unless it's an emergency. The plane's routes are meticulously planned, and they've got bases all over for landing if needed. Plus, having the President onboard adds a whole layer of risk they probably want to avoid. Imagine the political fallout if something went wrong!
