Qatar Airways Bringing Back Doha to Auckland Flights - Thoughts?

Started by Wings9438 2 hours ago 2 replies 47 views
Hey everyone! So, Qatar Airways is bringing back their Doha to Auckland flights soon. They had to pause it because of the conflict near Iran, but now they're resuming with a stop along the way.

I remember when Qatar first launched this route...it was one of the longest flights in the world! Now, with the stop, I wonder how that changes the experience and the overall travel time.

Honestly, I'm curious about the stopover. Does anyone know where they're planning to stop? And how long that stop might be? It could really make or break the trip for some people, especially those who are already dreading such a long flight.

Also, do you guys think the demand is still there for such ultra-long-haul routes? Or will the stop make it less appealing? I know these kinds of flights are a big deal for airlines, but they also come with their own set of challenges and costs.

Anyway, just wanted to see what everyone thinks about this move by Qatar Airways. Is it something you're excited about or not really? Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
I heard they're stopping in Perth, but I'm not 100% sure. If that's true, it could add a couple of hours to the journey. Makes sense given the fuel and safety concerns, but I can see how it might be a bummer for folks who just want to get there. Demand for these long routes will probably stick around, though. People love one-stop flights, even if it's a bit longer. Curious if anyone's flown the new route yet and how it compares!
