JAL's New Robot Helpers at Tokyo Airports - Future or Fad?

Started by GregoryLHR40 1 hours ago 1 replies 15 views
So Japan Airlines is trying out humanoid robots at Tokyo airports. They've kicked off this trial to see how these robots can help out with the usual airport stuff. I guess they're aiming to boost efficiency and deal with worker shortages. Makes sense when you think about the hustle and bustle in big hubs like Tokyo.

Honestly, it sounds pretty wild. I mean, robots at airports? Feels like we're living in a sci-fi movie. But I get it - combining tech with human oversight could really streamline things. Plus, with fewer people wanting to work in these roles, robots might fill some gaps. I just wonder how passengers will react to interacting with robots instead of humans. Will it be smoother or just add to the confusion?

What do you guys think? Are robots going to become a regular thing in airports, or is this just a temporary fix? And how do you feel about dealing with a robot instead of a person when you're rushing to catch a flight? Curious to hear your thoughts!
