So I just read this thing about the Republic of Korea Air Force not having a rule against taking selfies in flight until recently. Apparently, they didn't see a big deal in it until one flight went sideways when a pilot was trying to capture some cool in-flight memories. I guess it was pretty common across squadrons to snap a few pics, but this one incident changed everything.
I get the appeal of taking selfies up there - must be an incredible view. But it makes me wonder about the safety implications. Like, isn't it risky to be distracted while flying such complex machinery? On the other hand, I can see why pilots would want to capture those moments. I mean, how often do you get to fly a fighter jet, right?
Has anyone else heard about similar incidents in other air forces? Do you think a ban is overkill, or is it a necessary step for safety? I'm curious how other countries handle this. Seems like a fine line between safety and letting pilots enjoy the moment. What's your take?
