Qatar's 747 Gift for Trump to Fly as Air Force One?

So, I just read that a Boeing 747-8, which was a gift from Qatar and meant for Trump, is almost ready to fly as a temporary Air Force One. Apparently, it's done with test flights and should be in service this summer after some final touches. This plane was originally owned by the Qatari royal family - pretty wild, right? I've always thought the 747-8 is an impressive aircraft. It's big, it's got range, and it's just plain cool. But using a gifted plane for Air Force One is kinda unusual, isn't it? I mean, I get that it might be a cost-saving move, but it seems like it could stir up some controversy. Also, doesn't the Air Force One need all sorts of security features and stuff? Wonder how they're handling that. Anyone know if they've done something like this before? And what do you guys think about using a foreign-gifted plane for such a high-profile role? Does it matter, or is a plane just a plane at the end of the day?
Using a gifted plane like that is definitely unusual for Air Force One. It's gotta have tons of security upgrades and tech to fit the role. I remember hearing about a VC-25 replacement with Boeing, but this is a twist. And yeah, the controversy seems inevitable, especially with it being from Qatar. It reminds me of when Air Force Two used to be a DC-9, but that was all American-made. Wonder how the retrofitting is being handled and who's footing the bill for it all.
