Hey everyone, just saw that SWISS had a pretty good first quarter this year. They made CHF 30 million in operating profit, which is a big jump from the CHF 3.3 million they made during the same time last year. I guess that's what happens when there's a surge in demand, especially on those Asian routes. Seems like the geopolitical stuff in the Middle East had a role in that too, which isn't surprising given how things can shift travel patterns.
Revenue stayed around CHF 1.22 billion, so pretty stable there. But they did mention fuel costs might be an issue coming up. I mean, we all know fuel prices can be a huge factor for airlines. So, I wonder how much that'll impact them in the next few quarters.
Anyone else think these demand surges are just temporary, or are we seeing a lasting trend? And what do you guys think SWISS should do about the potential fuel cost impact? Would love to hear your thoughts!
