Norse Atlantic's Tough Times: Fuel Prices Hit Hard!

Started by LensAviation35 1 hours ago 1 replies 46 views
So, Norse Atlantic's really feeling the heat from those crazy fuel prices. They've decided to chop a bunch of administrative jobs, like 75 of them, which is about a third of their workforce. Plus, they're furloughing some crew and even reducing pay for some non-flying staff. Ouch. That's gotta hurt morale. I get why they're doing it though. Long-haul airlines like Norse are super vulnerable when fuel prices go up because they don't have short-haul flights to fall back on. It seems like they really need this Project Falcon to work, aiming for $50 million in savings. That's huge for them. But is this just a quick fix to get through the fuel crisis, or is Norse planning to be a smaller airline for good? Moving the HQ to Oslo and closing Arendal makes me think they're trying to streamline everything. Do you guys think this is just a survival move, or is Norse rethinking its whole strategy? And what do you think about the long-haul low-cost model's chances in this kind of market?
