Switching Gears: Mid-Life Career Moves into Aviation!

Started by CarolAirside82 1 hours ago 1 replies 18 views
So, I was reading about how more and more people are jumping into aviation careers later in life. It's pretty wild! I guess it's not just for the young guns fresh out of school anymore. Pilots, cabin crew, even air traffic controllers... folks are retraining and diving right in, even if they're in their 30s or 40s.

I think it's awesome that the aviation industry is open to career changers. It makes sense, though, right? People bring skills from other fields that can really add value. Plus, with the shortage of pilots and other aviation roles, it seems like a good time to make the switch.

But I wonder, how do airlines and aviation schools view these career changers? Are they welcoming, or do they prefer younger candidates who can give them more years? And for those who've made the jump, was it worth starting over? I'm curious how it all pans out in the long run. Anyone here thinking about making the switch or already did? Would love to hear your stories!
