So Allegiant just bought Sun Country for $1.5 billion and now they're the 8th largest airline in the US. That's pretty wild, right? They've got almost 175 destinations and over 650 routes combined. I'm curious how this'll change things for both airlines. I mean, they're gonna keep operating under their own names for now, but eventually, Sun Country will become Allegiant.
I guess Allegiant's really doubling down on being the biggest leisure airline. Makes sense with all the vacation spots they fly to. But what does this mean for us passengers? Are we gonna see better deals, or maybe more routes to choose from? Also, do you guys think this merger will change the service quality or experience onboard?
And what about the employees? I hope there won't be too many layoffs. Airlines always say mergers are about growth, but I feel like sometimes it just means cutting costs. Anyway, anyone have thoughts on this? How do you guys feel about Allegiant's big move here?
