Anyone Tried Spotting at Sao Paulo Guarulhos (GRU)?

Hey folks, I'm thinking of heading to Sao Paulo Guarulhos (GRU) for some plane spotting. Never shot there before, and I'm wondering if anyone has some tips. Heard it's a pretty busy airport, so I'm excited about the variety.

Mainly curious about the best spots for shooting and what kind of lenses you guys recommend. I've got a 70-300mm, but not sure if that'll cut it with the distances. Any specific locations you'd suggest for good angles? Also, how's the security there? I don't want to get into trouble while just trying to capture some great shots.

And what's the light like throughout the day? Trying to plan out my timing, so any advice on when to catch the best lighting would be awesome. Thanks in advance!
I've been to GRU a couple of times. Your 70-300mm should be fine for most spots, but if you can get closer to the fence, you'll get some nice close-up shots. Try the observation deck near Terminal 2 for decent views of arrivals and departures. Security is generally chill, but always keep an eye out for any signs or guards. Light's best early morning or late afternoon, typical golden hour stuff. Just be ready for some hazy skies; it can mess with your shots. Have fun!
I was at GRU last year. The 70-300mm should be okay, especially if you stick to the observation deck areas. There's a spot near Runway 09L/27R where you can catch some great landings and takeoffs. Security's pretty chill, but always good to have your ID on you just in case. Light can be tricky with the humidity, but mornings and late afternoons usually give you that nice golden hue. Just watch out for those afternoon thunderstorms that roll in sometimes!
