Air India Pauses Some Long Flights to the US - Thoughts?

Started by Flyer1757 12 hours ago 1 replies 44 views
So, I just read that Air India is suspending 3 of their ultra-long-haul routes to the US. They're usually flying through Middle Eastern airspace, but with all the chaos in Iran right now, they've decided to hit pause on these routes. Makes sense in a way, but it's gotta be a tough call for them.

I mean, 22-hour flights are no joke, and I guess airspace issues are just the tip of the iceberg. Wonder if this'll push more airlines to rethink their routes around the region? Feels like we're seeing more and more of these geopolitical things affecting airlines lately.

I'm curious what you all think. Do you think Air India should try to find alternative routes, even if it means longer flight times? Or is it smarter to suspend for now and wait it out? Also, how do you think this will impact travelers who rely on these long-haul flights? It's gotta be a headache for people who had plans already set.

Anyway, just wanted to see what you all think about this whole situation. Anyone else surprised by the decision?
