Delta SkyMiles: Any Tips for Maximizing Status Runs in 2024?

I'm trying to figure out the best way to hit Delta Medallion status for next year. I've been loyal to Delta for a while, but with all the changes in the program, I'm a bit confused about the best strategies for a status run.

I've heard mixed things about how MQD waivers work with the Delta Reserve card and whether it's worth it to aim for Platinum or just stick with Gold. Also, are there any routes or times of year that are better for racking up those MQMs? I'm based in Atlanta, so I have a lot of Delta options, but I'm not sure which ones give the best bang for my buck.

If anyone's got some recent experience or tips, I'd love to hear about it. Especially if you've figured out any hacks or sweet spots in the current system. Thanks!
I've been in the same boat with Delta changes. The Delta Reserve card can be worth it if you're close to hitting MQD requirements, as it can help waive them. As for MQMs, look for longer domestic routes with layovers, like ATL to SEA or ATL to LAX with a stop. You can sometimes get bonus MQMs on those. Check out late winter for cheaper fares. Also, keep an eye out for any double MQM promotions. They pop up sometimes!
I hear ya, the Delta program changes can be a headache. Since you're in Atlanta, maybe consider those transcontinental flights. They often rack up more MQMs and can be cheaper during off-peak times. I've heard San Francisco and Seattle can sometimes have good deals. As for the Delta Reserve card, it can help but weigh the annual fee against how close you are to that next status tier. Have you thought about trying any international runs? Sometimes those can be surprisingly cost-effective for MQMs.
