Delta A330 Emergency Landing After Engine Scare Over Europe

Started by TheCaptainInsider 1 weeks ago 1 replies 61 views
So, I just read about this Delta A330 that had to make an emergency landing at CDG. It was flying from JFK to MXP when one of the engines reportedly had some kind of fire. Passengers heard a loud bang and saw flashes coming from the engine. That must've been terrifying! To make things worse, the cabin went dark right after.

The crew declared an emergency, and they were able to safely land in Paris. Fire and rescue teams were ready on the ground, which is reassuring. I'm just glad everyone is okay.

Does anyone know what might cause this kind of mid-air engine issue? Also, with a sudden loss of power in the cabin, how common is it for the crew to maintain control? I always thought the A330 was a pretty reliable aircraft. Would love to hear your thoughts!
