So I was reading about some commercial planes that made headlines, but not the good kind. It's crazy how some iconic aircraft, which we usually think of as amazing tech marvels, have pretty troubled pasts. Sure, aviation's got its fair share of success stories, but not everything goes smoothly.
Take the De Havilland Comet, the first jet airliner. It had a promising start but then had those fatal crashes due to metal fatigue. Or the Boeing 737 MAX, which we all know had its issues with the MCAS software leading to those tragic accidents.
It's a reminder that behind the scenes, there are lots of challenges and sometimes even tragedies that shape the industry. Makes you think about how much goes into making these planes safe.
What do you guys think? Are there any other planes that come to mind when you think about this kind of stuff? Also, how do you feel about flying on aircraft with a controversial past once they're cleared? Always curious to hear what others think!
