American Airlines Back in Budapest After 7 Years!

Hey everyone, guess what! American Airlines is flying nonstop between Budapest and Philly again after a whole seven years. They kicked off this route on May 22, and it'll run daily through October 5. They're using the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner for this, which is a solid choice for a route like this, right? I mean, it offers a good mix of seats without overdoing it.

It's pretty cool that Budapest is getting a daily U.S. link back. Makes me wonder how important these daily flights are for boosting a city's profile. And it's interesting how American is really utilizing Philly as a hub for Europe. With over 100 connections, it's more than just a point-to-point flight.

Also, it seems like there's decent demand between Hungary and the U.S., with 630,000 people traveling between them in 2025. That's a lot! Do you think this route is going to stick around long-term, or is it just a seasonal thing that might not last? How do you guys feel about American betting on Philly for these transatlantic routes? Let me know what you think!
I think it's awesome for Budapest to have this connection back. The 787-8 is a solid choice-good range, fuel efficiency, and passenger comfort. Philly's a smart hub too, lots of connections. Curious if American's gonna keep it beyond October. They tried Chicago-Budapest before, didn't last. This could be different if the demand holds up. Anyone know how Budapest's airport is handling the extra traffic?
I think using the 787-8 for this route is a smart move. It's got the right range and passenger comfort for a transatlantic flight. Philly as a hub makes sense too, with all those connections. But I wonder if demand will stay strong enough to keep it going past October 5. American might be testing the waters to see if Budapest can sustain year-round service. Anyone know if they've hinted at plans beyond this season?
