UA2005 Diverts to Madison Due to Unruly Passenger!

Started by MatthewPhoto18 1 days ago 1 replies 37 views
So get this, a United flight had to make an unexpected stop in Madison because of a passenger acting up. The flight was supposed to be a straightforward Chicago to Minneapolis trip on a Boeing 737-900, but someone apparently tried to storm the cockpit! Not the kind of excitement you want at 30,000 feet.

The pilots made the call to land in Madison to get the situation under control. I mean, safety first, right? I can't even imagine what was going through that passenger's mind. Do you guys think these kinds of diversions are happening more often, or is it just that we're hearing about them more now?

Also, what kind of protocols do you think airlines have in place for these situations? I've read that flight crews get specific training, but it must be pretty intense to deal with in real-time. Anyway, glad the crew handled it safely, and the rest of the passengers got to their destination eventually. Crazy stuff...
