Pittsburgh's New Direct Flight to Dublin - Thoughts?

Started by KimberlyATL35 2 hours ago 1 replies 31 views
So, Aer Lingus just launched a new nonstop flight from Pittsburgh to Dublin! This is Pittsburgh's third transatlantic route now, joining British Airways to London and Icelandair to Reykjavk. It's the first time in seven years that PIT has three direct routes to Europe. Pretty cool, right?

They're using the Airbus A321neo LR for this one, which I think is a smart choice. It's got just enough range without being too big for the market. Plus, the flight times seem convenient for both business and leisure travelers. I like how Dublin serves as more than just a final stop. It's a gateway to a bunch of European cities too.

One thing I find interesting is the U.S. preclearance in Dublin. It means when you arrive in Pittsburgh, you're basically treated like a domestic passenger. Seems like a big time-saver, especially for business travelers.

What do you guys think? Will this new route make you more likely to fly out of Pittsburgh? And for those who've flown the A321LR on a long-haul route, how's the comfort compared to a widebody?
